Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American performer, actress, and songwriter for many years. Her mom raised her in the USA in a place where she endured many racial taunts that left her feeling like someone who was not wanted. After she participated in an event at school and was given the highest praise for her singing at the age of 9 the young girl started to gain confidence. Not only did she gain confidence because of the experience however, she also re-evaluate her plans for her career. The 22-year-old graduated with an education from the Julliard School in New York. At the age of 23 she began her professional career on Broadway in the Paul Simon musical The Capeman. Then, at 23 years old she made her film debut in You've Got Mail. The greatest success of her career came with her portrayal of The Lady Of The Lake on Spamalot's original Broadway production. She did not only get the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by the critics. The following year, in 2007, she was a cast member in the ABC program Grey's Anatomy and became more popular. Apart from being a popular singer, she released a solo and an extended piece. In addition, she is an LGBT activist.
